Pallet Observations

At the NWPCA meeting and Machine Expo in Richmond, VA this weekend, one topic I heard discussions about was the half pallet. It is half the size of a regular GMA pallet and can either be 48 X 20 or 24 X 40.  Shippers use them for smaller sized loads rather than using the full sized GMA. It saves shippers money, space and shipping weight. I have noticed them in grocery stores and big box stores where on display. If you are shipping smaller load sizes a half pallet may be a good solution for you.

Pallet Expo in Richmond VA

Owners and management of Dominion Pallet will attend the East Coast Sawmill and Logging Richmond Expo on May 18 and 19, 2012.  The Expo features machines from the wood and pallet industry and gives us a chance to see the new machines in action.  Manufacturers from all over the world come to Richmond for the bi-annual event to meet potential customers and showcase their equipment.  In conjunction with the event the NWPCA has meetings and events in Richmond which we will also attend.  We look forward to seeing the newest machines in the pallet industry and meeting with our pallet manufacturing colleagues!

Maybe we'll buy a new stacker at the Expo.  We got this one there, many years ago.
